THE GO-ONE TRICYCLE

Here's an eye-catching way of beating the congestion charge - the Go-One is a bright new addition to the world of eco-vehicles.

Designed by Michael Goretzky, who was involved in the development of Daimler Chrysler's SMART automobile, the futuristic-looking yellow transport is a HPV (Human-Powered Vehicle).

But, before you can say the word 'tricycle', the Go-One can be fitted with an optional 500 watt electric assist motor, which can zip you along at speeds of up to 20mph.

Weighing in at just 32kg with batteries, the pedal-powered vehicle is a breeze to ride, although you won't have to suffer the elements as it is fully enclosed to keep the wind, rain and snow at bay. But at the first sign of good weather you can pop open the windshield for an instant drop-top experience.

The Go-One has headlights, backlights and turn signals and is steered using a joystick. Buyers can also kit their vehicle out with a number of extras, including a luggage rack, electric fan, and soft-top option.

German-based manufacturer Beyss claim the Go-One is a "a new type of vehicle and a new way of life", for which you can expect to pay $10,739 for the engine-less version.

Go-One, you know you want one.
