The 1975 TV film The Naked Civil Servant is based on the autobiography of the same name by gay icon Quentin Crisp.

Starring John Hurt as Crisp, the 90 minute movie follows Quentin’s life from youth to middle age.

For his performance, Hurt won the BAFTA for Best Actor in 1976.
