The London Eye (also known as the Millennium Wheel) is, at a height of 135 metres, the biggest Ferris wheel in Europe. Since being erected in 1999 the Eye has become one of the most popular tourist attractions in the United Kingdom and is visited by over 3 million people each year. Located on the South Bank of the River Thames, the Eye was erected to mark the Millennium and is now an instantly recognisable feature of the central London skyline. Comprising of 32 glass capsules that can each hold 25 people, a 30 minute ‘trip’ offers superb views over the heart of London and beyond.
