From Keith Moon cavorting with topless groupies to a buff and bleeding Iggy Pop in full flow, the photos of prolific rock royalty chronicler James Fortune capture some of the most iconic people in music. Mick Jagger, Led Zeppelin, Gene Simmons and Stevie Wonder, to name but a few, have all been immortalised on film by Fortune. Back in the 1970s Fortune plied his trade in the backstages and VIP sections of some of the nation's biggest music events; he eventually became recognised as one of the most important photographers to document the halcyon years of rock. The result is a far ranging collection that gives an unprecedented glimpse at some of the top rock and roll icons of the 60s and 70s.
