The series was set in the murky world of espionage and starred Edward Woodward as David Callan, a reluctant professional killer for a shadowy branch of the British Government's intelligence services known as 'the Section'.
The Section specialised in removing those who are a danger to the innocent (whoever that may be) by whatever means necessary: persuasion, blackmail, extortion, or even death.
