It must be boring being a goldfish - swimming round and round.
And now that the myth that the fishy pets have three second memories has been dispelled by an Australian study, owners may feel that they should jazz up their goldfish's environments a bit.
Thankfully, the answer has come in the form of the Silverfish Aquarium - a hugely impressive fishy paradise featuring SIX living spaces.
France-based Octopus Studios have created the 230-litre aquarium, which features multiple globular fishbowls connected by six tubes through which the fish can swim.
All the filtration, heating and lighting components are stored in the especially-constructed stand.
Each aquarium is made-to-order, a process which takes about six weeks, and will set you back £1,999 (2,600 euros) VAT for EU customers.
The goldfish three second memory myth was busted recently by a 15-year-old Australian schoolboy.
Rory Stokes, from Adelaide, conducted an experiment in which he only fed his goldfish next to a brick of red Lego. He then left the fish alone for a week before putting the Lego back in. He found the hungry fish had remembered the brick and swam towards it in the hope of getting fed.
"They remembered perfectly well," he said. "They actually had a time faster than the average of the three feeds before I left (the brick out)."
Culum Brown, a research fellow at Sydney's Macquarie University, has studied fish behaviour for more than a decade and found that they remember escape routes from simulated trawler nets.
"Definitely - I think the more complicated you make your fish tank, the happier your fish is gonna be," Dr Brown said.
"In fact, the best thing to do is to keep changing it around, so make it interesting for them.
"You'll find that if you do that, your goldfish will be much more active and much happier in general."
The Silverfish is definitely a must-have for fish fans - but good luck cleaning the thing!
