A combat-style vest that simulates the feeling of getting shot has gone on sale.
Designed to be hooked up to the latest video games, the 3rdSpace vest mimics the impact of a bullet when the player gets hit by an onscreen baddy.
It works by firing pneumatic cells at the stomach, chest or back when an enemy lands a shot in games such as Doom and Call of Duty 2.
Originally designed as a medical device by Dr Mark Ombrellaro, the technology has been adapted to immerse gamers into virtual combat.
Dr Ombrellaro, founder/CEO of TN Games explains: "Our patented vest technology now provides gamers with an unprecedented opportunity to physically experience their action, bridging the divide between virtual and physical reality.
"It enables gamers to get pounded, feel the rush of body slams, be crushed with G-forces, feel a stab wound or be blasted with bullet fire in either a single or multi-player game experience."
The 3rdSpace vest is available for US$169.99 (£80).
